SO IS CROYDON COUNCIL RUN BY A BUNCH OF CORRUPT CROOKS?

The measure of an organisation. Whether it is Corporation, Government or Local Authority. Is not whether it makes mistakes or has corruption in it’s midst. It is what they do about it when it is discovered. All organisations make mistakes and have a few rotten apples. That can never be avoided. But what can be done about it is to root it out when it flourishes. Croydon Council have behaved like a bunch of petty crooks. Especially those at the top David Wechsler and Phillip Goodwin who could have done something about it at the very start but chose to ignore it hoping no one . . . especially me  . . .  would find out.

P C Reen the exception to the rule at Croydon Constabulary. Who took two hours patiently taking my statement and gave much encouragement. It wasn’t his fault my complaint then went to a special race complaints department who totally ignored it from then on.

Derek Conway MP Bexley  and Sidcup (congrats on re-election Derek by the way) who has read as many letters as he could in his busy schedule. Enough to keep abreast of the situation and has given much very valuable encouragement.

Roy Cullen the Planning Control Officer who was not bent and replied properly and honestly about the flue.
I hope he didn’t get into trouble for doing so.

Our Solicitor James  Ressel who had the courage to take on someone like me, who “is not in any way that approved”. He  doesn’t see it as anything special . . . but I know  differently. And how long it took to find the right guy. He has taken time (some of it his own . . . is that a record these days?) to find out  where I’m coming from. But then he has had some good laughs into the bargain. NOBODY DOES IT QUITE LIKE ME.

Ken Frost who’s web-site www.croydoniscrap.com gave me so many ideas. Who had no hesitation in putting my case on his web-site when I sent him a picture of the ‘carbuncle’ as he calls it. And . . . when he cleared his site recently of the many picture of decay and decrepitating he complains of in Croydon . . left the carbuncle picture in pride of place. . . (He’s a really posh bloke . . . not like me. You can see an interesting  vid of him at  http://kenfrost.0catch.com/icaew_0004.wmv  . . But it is 7meg and will need broadband.)

Ray  the Wood Rot expert who  read through all my letters on the dangers of rot, and gave me the confidence to be so erudite on the subject.

Dave W . . . The proper Planning Officer from a PROPER Council next door. Who came down in his own time to see the problems of rot. But who saw the flue and in 5 minutes explained that  . . which  took Croydon Council 10 months to admit was wrong with it. And another 6 months to get rid of it.

My long suffering friends who will no longer have to get an ear bashing about this ridiculous case. They can catch up to date on here.

My brother Rob who has managed to stifle many a yawn at the complexities . . But is always there for me, when push comes to shove. And sister in law Liz  who would tear her hair out at my grammar.

My gorgeous wife and kids who have put up with ‘daddies’ little obsession through thick and thin. With much faith in my determination and the obvious outcome . . . but then again  . . . . they’ve seen it all before.

And last but not least those of you who have written in confidence and told me the things that you did . . . Especially the brave ones who entrusted my confidence with their names . . Thanx  . You know who you are.

There have been some notable exceptions however.

Brian Miles the Local Government Ombudsman. A charming man who has had to read many many more letters than could ever be posted on this site. Who came down from Coventry to meet my wife and I and to see for himself. And has always done everything by the book with a patience far in excess of what Croydon Council deserved. .  . . It’s a shame his boss Jerry White didn’t see fit to do more than slap LBC over the wrist.

Kevin Sexton Croydon Borough Commander London Fire Brigade. Who’s men totally cocked up. Trespassing, then destroying and removing my property. But who instantly wrote a profuse letter of apology. Rep-remanded his men. And gave me his assurance it would never happen again. (unlike Croydon Police however who have acted appallingly biased, incompetent, unlawfully and very much more . . .
